Fuego = Fire

When applying to college and finding myself at various “preview days,” one of the preview days I had the opportunity to sit in had touched on the story of the local coffee shop native to Rochester, Fuego. Fuego was a project founded by an alum and her husband of my college. It was an Enactus project that later turned into a business venture.

It wasn’t until later on in my coffee adventures that I had the opportunity to truly try and enjoy Fuego. Given my on campus jobs and attending several different events, we typically always had Fuego coffee as the coffee vender, but I don’t think that would be a fair review.

Since being in college, Fuego has switched locations and has recently opened up another new and different coffee shop that I plan to review later on. For now here is what I had observed about Fuego.

Overall, I had given Fuego an 85/100, bonus points for being ethical.

To read about the breakdown, download my rubric below. To find my rubric to use, click on my local coffee shop list.

Starting with something I am not a huge fan with would be the parking. You can either pay to park, park on the street, or there is a weird one way on the side with parking. The shop is only open till 3 currently (normally till 5), so its not the best place to sit in all day if you are planning to do work all day.

My favorite thing about Fuego would have to be the consistency. Anytime I go there, if I get the same drink, it is made perfectly the same way every time. It is a bit pricey, and there are not many options, however if you are a bit of a coffee snob it should be able to provide you with your fix.

The other thing I really appreciate about Fuego is their activeness in the Rochester area. They are willing to provide and help those in need, and I think that is very important. They also actively sell local artwork. Local businesses helping local businesses.

I recommend for anyone to check out Fuego, but especially those who are coffee enthusiasts. It is the perfect blend of flavor and a personal favorite brew of mine to do at home.
