Chemex Coffee Changed Me

Since I call myself a coffee connoisseur, I decided to take my coffee home. I have always wanted to buy a Chemex, a famous pour-over deceive to make my favorite type of coffee. Chemex is a little more on the middle to expensive side (depending on your budget.) If your the type to just have a coffee maker, this is a bit more time-consuming.
If I ever made coffee at home, I used to french press. It wasn’t great, but over time I perfected it. It only took about four minutes and it was easily accessible for my morning routine. Then I learned that the metal in a french press increases the cholesterol in the coffee. Weird fact, but still a fact. I took the plunge and bought a coffee grinder, filters, and a Chemex and it changed my routine. I thought I would have to get up earlier, but I just start the water when I get up. The difference between the french press and a Chemex (other than a smoother taste) is the way in brews. A french press needs to sit while a Chemex is ready once it goes through the filter.
There is a lot of science behind the coffee phenomenon. I still need to buy a food scale and measure the coffee and water, right now I just guess, but I rarely have a bad cup with a Chemex. The Chemex is the best pour-over you can buy that is reasonably priced but I recommend a Burr grinder if you are really serious about coffee. Right now, I only have a cheap Target branded one, but I will definitely invest soon.
I love how much you’ve embraced the Chemex method! It’s such a game-changer when it comes to getting that clean, smooth cup of coffee. I totally get the appeal of the French press, but the Chemex really does take things to the next level. If you’re ever looking to try something else, cold press coffee is another awesome option. It’s similar to the Chemex in that it’s smooth and flavorful, but it’s brewed cold, so it’s perfect for a refreshing coffee experience with less acidity. Thanks for sharing your coffee journey—I'm definitely inspired to try Chemex myself!
